i got me a wordpress account and will start my sporadic blogging from there. it's the same "chu on this..." but like version 2.0. hold on to your pants...it'll be great.

http://chuphoria.wordpress.com/

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

hmmm...it's been a while...and there hasn't been much activity in xangaland. do people use/read this anymore? nevertheless, i will push forward. some things of late...

concerts! oh how i love live music. :) saw matt nathanson last friday...whoop!! second time seeing him and he didn't disappoint. seriously, he's a funny man. i was laughing out loud in b/n his songs while he talked. so funny. he played for 2 hrs, which sucked for my feet but awesome for everything else. plus...it was my first time at the warfield....pretty cool venue.
and then high five to my bro for hooking me up with tickets to see ray lamontagne last night!! FANTASTIC! man...this guy... his voice is just great. so weathered...whiskeyed out...love it. although he's not much of an entertainer...he's not fussy or sassy (there was basically silence in between his songs while he switched guitars)...the music more than made up for it. it was at the paramount theater and the acoustics in there are nice...it's like you're in a big bathroom. :) if you don't know ray lamontagne...get to know him. soo good.

reading! the book that i'm currently reading is making me laugh out loud. this todd gallagher is such a funny writer! i think it would be even funnier if i knew every athlete that he makes references to in the book...but even without being a sports buff, it is seriously very entertaining reading. i feel like i almost have to ration out the chapters so i can save some funnies for the next day.

ESV study bible! they just released the newest edition this past october and i have to tell you...it's pretty awesome. i didn't need a new study bible, but since more than a couple of pastors that i respect and listen to have been making a big push for it, i got meself one. whoa mama...beyond the fact that it's God's Word, there is a wealth of additional goooooood reading. the commentary and articles in the back...who does that?? just a great resource and so much to chew on. please consider.

happy election day :)
Sunday, September 14, 2008

<img title="img097" style="border-style: none; i finally committed and bought a bike. i've been wanting one for quite some time now...especially since my knees are all messed up and it hurts to go running. so after many months of asking around and doing the research, i decided on a Jamis Coda hybrid bike. (i know i know...all you road bikers out there who are booing...get in the back of the line. apparently a hybrid bike is like the runt child of mountain bikers and road bikers.) but i'm happy and i'm excited...which is a big thing since i've visited the store every week for a month now and hem and hawed for HOURS in there. the people working were very patient and helpful and didn't make fun of me when i had no idea what an adjustable stem was. they even installed my water cage and bike pump. i'm a fan of Sports Basement. i could do with different colors...but tis ok...it was the last one of this model in all the stores and they weren't going to order anymore.

anyhoo...i'm excited! hopefully i can bike around more from place to place. too bad i live on top of the biggest hill in millbrae.

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

oh the olympics!!

swimming?....ridiculous! the men's relay was out of control!
especially after all the trash-talking the french team did. they were
so moded. that stuff has got me standing up, clapping, and cheering at
11:15pm at night. sooo good! and just as a sidenote:

yeaaaaah right they're all at least 16 years old. i know asians look younger than their age, but 16? please... did you see the girl on the far right? try 12.
Tuesday, June 10, 2008

some things that i have been really enjoying recently. some new, some old...alllll good. :)

1. sweet leaf sweet tea. yumm! this stuff is so tasty! all the other flavors are also really good!
2. craig ferguson. seriously....this guy makes me laugh out loud!! he's so funny!! him and conan are tied at #1.
3. honey lattes. mmmm... get it at peet's.
4. (admit it somegirl, you liked getting his autograph! ) also...over the years with really good artists, his album is one of the two that i have given a comment for in itunes. i usually never...but it was too good. please check out this underrated musician...you won't be disappointed. if you are...email me and i'll pray for you.

here are some photos... i really need to get a camera. my phone is junk.

the guy who was kind of like the bouncer at the line took this for me

and lastly...the blurry pic after i yelled "lincoln!" at the side of the line. (btw...was it rude to do that? oops.) not the best, but i had to post it since it took so many tries to get him to look at me. i couldn't let it go to waste!
<img title="img093" style="border-style: none; i think some of his music is really catchy and i can't deny that i haven't started shaking the booty when some of his songs starts on the radio. but for some reason, he's always just been the "pretty boy" to me. the pretty boy who records dance/rap songs with timbaland. i have many friends that don't let me forget that he is bringing sexy back nice and strong...but still, nothing too big nothing too special. so...i got reba mcentire's "duets" album and it is with this album that i am seeing mr. jt in a new light. i am LOVING the track "the only promise that remains" which he co-wrote for reba. hmm....co-wrote and produced. nice jt. i'm impressed. good for you...way to branch out. so i'm slow getting on this train, and probably won't be wearing an "i heart justin timberlake" shirt anytime soon, but it's nice to hear how he's musically diverse and i'm interested in what else he's going to bring in the future. take a listen... i actually think this video from oprah's show is better than the track on the cd. soooo prettty... oh and btw, the rest of the album rocks. reba is so cool.

Tuesday, April 01, 2008

had a fantabulous time last weekend camping at joshua tree national park! i think i may even like it better than snowboarding?! perhaps... and joshua tree? the desert and rocks were amazing....the actual joshua tree...not so amazing. haha.. oh and btw...one of the climbing guides informed me that U2 didn't take their album pic here, but rather by a joshua tree in nevada. wha?? i feel jipped.

<img title="joshua tree" style="border-style: none; for reals. went to northstar on friday for a day trip and i'm still feeling it a little today. dahh! i also bruise like a peach, so i documented the casualties of the packed hard snow on that sunny day.

<img title="img075" style="border-style: none; haha.. it's so hypercolor. i think my knee is finally back to more normal size today. it was super swollen on fri/sat...like a big melon on my knees. neat.
-------
update:
this is how my leg looks now!!
